ZHUHAI FUSHAN INDUSTRIAL PARK KINDERGARTEN

Our design is based on the principle of providing the kids a broad range of learning environments. A diverse, colorful and stimulating space, helps the kids to think out of the box and enhance their creativity.

Being located at the intersection between two primary roads, our priority was to create a buffer green area on the east side for noise reduction. The main outdoor activities are located here while on the opposite west side is located the temporary parking and school bus area accessible through a secondary road bordering the adjacent site.

The layout of the kindergarten is separated into four round edged blocks of the same height. Starting from the south side, the first three units are dedicated to standard classrooms (located south) and special classrooms (located north). Each floor has a teaching office. The last unit to the north combines canteen and swimming pool.

The special feature of the kindergarten is a protruding block that diagonally cuts through all four units from south to north. The volume starts from the ground floor on the south and it’s inclined to reach the top floor of the fourth unit where a wide playground has views towards the river. The volume connects both vertically and horizontally all the independent units and the interior terraced open space has the primary function of activity space. The result is a wide, colorful and bright room connecting both visually and physically every part of the kindergarten.
